National Signs works with a multitude of industries, but one that we’re especially fond of is higher education. We’re fortunate to have so many excellent colleges and universities in the Greater Houston area. And, many of these institutions have turned to National Signs for their signage!
Our team appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with institutional leaders to determine the best usage of signage on their specific campus. So many great ideas and conversations have led to some of the most impressive and unique signs that we have created. We’d like to showcase some of our university signage.
University Signage For Our Greater Houston Area Partners
Consider this sample of post and panel signage, monument signage, and special signage that National Signs has crafted for some leading institutions in and around Houston.
Rice University
We are very proud to have created signage for our friends at Rice University. Located in the heart of Houston, Rice is consistently ranked as one of the country’s Top 20 Universities. This beautiful, 300-acre, tree-lined campus is a great setting for our post and panel signs.
As you can see from the photo, we introduced post and panel signage to help identify parking lots on campus to support wayfinding. The signage makes a clear statement with the university name in their signature font, along with the school’s crest, and its beloved owl mascot at the top.
This particular sign includes multiple panels, and several unique shapes, which really make it stand out. The clean lines and bright blue accents provide a modern feel that fits perfectly with the aesthetic of this campus.
RELLIS-Texas A&M in Bryan
Another outstanding school we’ve worked with is Texas A&M University’s RELLIS campus. As stated on their website, “The RELLIS campus is a collaborative ecosystem built to foster advanced research, technology development, testing and evaluation, higher education, and hands-on career training.”
We created a monument sign that is located at the entrance of the campus. Not only does it showcase the A&M logo etched into the sign, but “RELLIS” pops because of its large font and classic A&M maroon coloring. This sign also utilizes channel letters on the bottom portion: “The Texas A&M University System.”
As you can tell, this is a unique sign with several different design elements incorporated into one beautiful piece. The RELLIS sign is truly a monument sign that’s hard to miss! Check it out in Bryan, Texas, or take a closer look at the sign in the National Signs gallery.
UHD – University of Houston-Downtown
We were so excited to work with the University of Houston’s Downtown Campus to create a very unique landmark sign. This was a special sign project with the goal to create campus engagement.
As you can see, this unique sign spells out “U-H-D” in huge block letters that you can actually stand inside! This sign is mounted on the ground, where it can be easily accessible by students and visitors as they walk around campus.
Projects like this are a delight for our team! We truly appreciate the opportunity to create a sense of community connection through signage. And, there’s no doubt that this interactive university signage hits the mark.
Not only is it a central gathering spot for students, but it is also a popular location for graduation photos, college announcement photos, staff photos, and more. This sign provides an overall great way to connect people while showcasing the university at the same time.
